I found them! Sailun S637 235/80/16

I found the 80 series Sailun tires! I called Sailun (800-238-6469) who told me to call my local TCI tire disturbutors (253-236-0713 Kent, WA) who is a vendor for Sailun. Then TCI directed me to a local tire dealer they work with and *poof* I found the 235/80/16 G rated Sailuns.

This is great because I was only finding the 85 series tires. Now that I found the 80 series my spare can stay (its an E rated 235/80/16).

I am only out $804 not $1600 for the Goodyears!

Thanks for those that helped and provided input on my other posts!

Bill
  • Good job, it is nice to learn that the 80 series actually do exist in the wild. For those with less than 33" center to center on their axles now have a solution that does not include their first born. Chris
  • I guess my concern would be if they are that hard to fine what do you do if you have a tire problem and need another tire?

    I'm still sticking with GY.
  • ^^^^^^^^^Seriously? (2nd post up)

So far it's a non-issue since there seem to be no reports of Sailun failures, but nails and road damage do happen. But if you had to get a new tire, you could easily find a cheapo to get by until you could get another Sailun. Even doing that you're still money ahead compared to the Goodyear.
  • Last November we replaced all six tires with Sailun 235-80-16. No issues so far. Lots of peace of mind after a few tire separation incidents with the old Tow Max.

Really? Every place I inquired about them recently when shopping for LTs just looked at me funny. Sailun? Like sailin a boat?

Guess you need to find a dealer that knows about and wants to sell tires.

When I was serious a few years ago about replacing the GY's for Sailuns I went into a Big O store here in Reno. They didn't have any in stock but called their warehouse/distributer over the hill in Sac. They had stock with recent dates and the tires were in Reno the next morning and on my rig by 5pm.

Maybe the places you checked only wanted to sell what they had in the back room.
