Internet or not?

I am getting rid of my class C and have purchased a new Fifth Wheel. My question is, should I purchase a satellite system with internet capabilities or should I just rely on the campground services for internet? I do almost everything via email including paying all my bills.

  • My experience is that RV park Wifi is iffy at best.
I use the internet a lot for our business and RV Park Wifi is just not reliable enough.
Up here you can go with Sat. or through the cell phone companies. That is the route I would go.
  • I don't like the campground idea. I hate having to walk to the office area (or to get nearer) to their internet device. I also don't like the "public" aspect of it. My MiFi allows us to block anyone from getting on. Some hacker may eventually, however, the chances are far slimmer than using a public wifi. We're paying $35.00 to AT&T and getting 3 GB....we've upped it to 5 GB and $50. a month.....we use it a lot. :)We also pay our bills and get on pubic forums a lot. Had there been only 1 of us, I don't know. Loneliness would prompt me to get on it more.
  • We found that most parks offer free Wi Fi. In fact many rest stops also have Wi Fi. When we camp in places with no services we just go to McDonalds ect which offer Wi Fi. However, with that being said if you use it lots and need to have access when you want it then perhaps you would be better off going the other route.
