jacks up or down?

Probably been discussed several times on this site but I can't seem to find anything. The question is, do the jacks go up or down for long term (winter) storage? Last winter we stored in a lot and left the jacks up. I just don't see the reasoning behind this practice. Seems to me it would be better for the unit to sit on the jacks. What say you?

    If you are referring to the stabilizer jacks while in storage. I prefer all my jacks down to stabilize the fifth wheel during storms.

    Not clear? which jacks are you referring to?
