- mhardinExplorerI carry a 16' canoe on top of the truck. I use roof racks and a front hitch mounted "goal post" that swivels.
- HalmfamilyExplorerWe carry ours on the roof of our truck. 8' and a 12'. Use a Thule roof rack and J hooks. Up out of the way and won't get damage by road debris. Just a thought for ya.

- Ed9824vExplorerI do not have a kayak but a porta bote and I fold it up and put it under the rear of the 5th wheel. been there for some 5 years. ready to use. BUT it is only 4.5 in +- thick. can't see why your idea will not work with that clearance.
- Rhall101572ExplorerI'm putting it in the front between the landing gear& the steps ( front to back)
- valhalla360NavigatorDepends where it is. If it's near the back, I would worry about going over driveway entrances where the back may dip much closer to the ground (similar on uneven campsites).
- LwiddisExplorer II14 inches clearance is more than many RVs have...mine included. Any rock damage possible? Oily spray in rain?
