Let's talk about party decks

DH and I have zeroed in on a Fuzion 342 Toy Hauler and haven't made the plunge yet. (Waiting to see how taxes treat us-- last year we owed a heavy amount).

The only option I have to decide on is yes or no on a party deck.

To those who have party decks:

A) you are happy you have it. You use it alot and you would definitely get it again.

B) Have it, hate it, won't get it again.

Thanks.

    I do this!
  • Our's didn't come with one but I considered how much time we spent on the deck at home and used 4 eye bolts and a couple tie downs to make one on our toy hauler. We use it quite a bit. It's nice to get off the ground and out of the mud if it rains a little but we like being outside as much as possible. We also have a propane fire pit for the common state of no open fires here in CO so we can put that on the deck as well.

When we are just relaxing it seems to be where we always end up. We also have a screen on the opening of the garage on our hauler so we leave the ramp in deck mode all night for the breeze and just close the door between the garage and the living area if it gets cold.

Last year we didn't have a rail but I'm working on how to make one.

    Here's pics.

  • Grunt, the dealer did tell me it is a different door with the party deck;I'm not sure in what way... Possibly the party deck door holds more pounds?
  • Ours did not come with one but it is an option and the DW wants one and I am trying to convince her to just let me use 2 jack stands and leave out the fence part that goes around the deck/ramp. Besides, it looks like my sandrail will run over the rails when not in use when it's folded and stored on the ramp. What's the purpose of the fence anyway??
  • If it's a late model Fuzion then the deck railing is much easier to set up than the earlier models. If you aren't sure about it, and it is a 2010 or earlier, you might want to take a look at how much of a hassle it is to put up the railing.

We have a 2010 Fuzion without the deck kit. But we watched one put together and it took about 15-20 minutes.
  • Thanks for the help.

Since I am in Louisiana (though plan to camp all over the country), I'm worried the party deck would be in the way or not used enough to be worth the trouble.

We will use the TH to haul toys and you have to partially assemble the deck to be able to use the ramp for a Polaris, etc.

I feel like I "want" one, but not sure.
  • We have one but haven't used it yet. The weather is too cold the one time we went out. We expect to have easy and clean access to the camper by using the deck. We have sliding doors instead of the pull down screen.
My father-in-law is mobility challenged so the deck is easier to get outside on and doubles as his access ramp.
