Mobile Suites 2010 DRV-32 TK3 Buyer Issues? Updated 4-25

I happened to to find a 2010 DRV-32TK3 for sale. My wife and older son thinks that this model will not work for us because it looks like there is no way to close off the bedroom area from guest. If someone in the middle of the night needs the us the restroom and sink, they will see anyone sleeping in the main bed. This is the big deal breaker for the wife.

Also if we bring a my son and his wife along with us I hope the cough area/ fold out bed would be adequate.

Comments Please.

Yes; I am the one with the "Girly Man" 99 Dodge 2500 long-bed 24 V Cummings 2 wheel drive truck.

Thanks to you all for educating me on how much I can "SAFELY" tow with this 99 Dodge, approximately 9,500 max. One of best resources for towing guide for me is http://www.rvsafety.com/
RVSEF - RV Weighing & Safety Education

Yes I will and intend on purchasing a new/newer 3500 one ton diesel truck. Just haven't done enough research to make sure I know for myself if I need a dully or a single rear tire truck. Also exactly gear ratio and other stuff to go along with the truck.

This as been a long haul for me over the years researching RV's, weights and what to look out for. You have been a big help to me and the wife. I hope my search for the right RV for us will start to coming to a close and start enjoying camping/RVing again.

And Yes; I hope to find a independent RV shop to look over the unit before we close a deal. Boy, I hope things work out!

Thanks again to you all.

  • Lemme help you out here. This is our first Alpenlite 34RLR Ltd

We lost it in a blowover in 2009 but found another, not the LTD version but with most of the LTD goodies.
  • What is a 32TRK? Did a search & all it found was this post. Do you mean a DRV 32TK3? Man, grab that trailer. If that is all that she can find to complain about get it & she will get over it.

The 32TK3 was on our shortest of short list when we were looking. It is a rare one. The beauty of it is that is has all the good stuff that its bigger brother the 36TK3 has, such as the 100gal water tank & the super roomy galley, but it is small enough to get into the SPs & NP sites that a 36 is too big for.

As it happened our Alpenlite 34RLR came along first however if presented with a choice of Mobile Suite or Alpenlite the 32TK3 would have won. The Alpenlite 34RLR is very similar in floorplan & tankage to the 32TK3. Yes, it DOES have a sliding door between the bedroom & lower part.

The Alpenlite 34RLR is a rare bird too but you might have a look around. Just noticed. You are in Oregon therefore much better chance finding an Alpenlite since they were a Yakima, WA builder.
  • If it's like our last DRV the bathroom door swung out into the hall. It mostly blocked the bedroom from viewing from below.
  • Keep looking, gotta keep Momma happy. If she doesn't like it don't buy it!
  • as said,a curtain could easily be installed but the main issue is the fold out bed, jack knife sofa I assume, is simply dreadful to sleep on.
let them try it out and see. unless you want to limit their visitation, then just spring it on them.

  • This would not be a problem for us. I am assuming the camper has a door to the water closet so there should be privacy. If we had guests we would simply wear pajamas or be under the covers. Why would a guest seeing me sleeping be big deal? Perhaps it would wake me up but in the grand scheme inconveniences having guests could produce I see this as a non issue.

If this really is a big issue with your wife you could get a tension rod and make a curtain to hide her from view while she is in bed.
  • You could give them a TENT! Not to bad if you have cots to get off the ground.
