Well, alright then. It looks as though I'm not reinventing the wheel :)
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I'm likely going to just make the drive and pick it up myself as opposed to the delivery thing. I haven't been on a good long road trip in a while and my company truck and gas are largely a write-off.
The variation in pricing between regions is amazing. I think the dealer's take the whole transportation fee thing and multiply it 3X out here on the west coast.
One of the biggest issues in the RV industry is that very few mfrs have a published MSRP, leaving the local dealers to pull an "MSRP" out of their nether regions. Not uncommon at all for identical units, about the same distance from Elkhart, to have an "MSRP" thousands apart. Jayco is one of the few mfrs that have a "configure and price" feature right on their web site. With this, a dealer will have a hard time justifying =any= numbers that don't jibe with the factory's own numbers...other than DOWNWARDS. :-)
Personally, I plan on faxing my own "spec sheet" to as many dealers that I can and see what they get back to me with. Whether it's on their lot or would be ordered.
