Currently we own a class a. We are considering trading it in for a 5th wheel which will be left at a campground in Florida all the time.We are not looking for a new rv,perhaps one that is 4-6 years old.The 5th wheel needs to have the following;4 door refrigeratorking size bed3 or 4 slidesall the bathroom facilities will be in the bathroom not bedroomsomewhere between 34 to 38 ft.I know we are particular about what we want and I am hoping that rvers on this forum will be able to tell us what 5th wheels you would recommend.ThanksDon

Quick question: If it will be left on a site and not moved, have you given any thought to a Park Model?? They can generally be had for less money as they aren't built quite as heavy since they're not towed all over the country. Plus everything would be on a single level. Just something to consider.

I'm with Michelle on this one.I love my fifth wheel and still enjoy it. But if I was going on a permanent site it would be a park model.That's my .02 C.B.

I would do a search on websites for RV dealers in your area, Craigslist & RV Trader to look for 5th wheels that fall in your price range. Most of the dealers will include a floorplan in their ads so you can see what the layout is like. For ads without the floorplan you can use the model number of the 5th wheel and do an image search online for a floorplan.

Park trailer, destination trailer or park model. Whatever you want to call it. Cheaper, no inside steps, more flexible floor plans. Many have residential appliances, residential bathroom fixtures...I wouldn't even consider a fifth wheel for that purpose.B.O.

Having a 5th wheel and we lived in it for 7 yrs traveling BUT IF we were to park it permanently I would opt for a travel trailer.
One less set of stairs.

Up the stairs to get in.......done.
No up/down stairs to go to bathroom, go to bedroom.

I appreciate the comments about park models and agree,however they are not allowed in the park we will be in.

Check out the Montana 3750FL. We love ours , and we plan to full time in ours.There is a bargain one listed in the for sale section of the Montana owners website. It looks like a great price on a real nice coach.

I disagree about park models, they have lower ceilings, and don't have feel that the fifth wheels do to me. Our fifth wheel has been set up on a permanent site for the last 6 years and I wouldn't trade for a park model. There's one on both sides of me and they have tiny little rooms and low ceilings. no thanks...

I would check and see if there are trailers already set up that are for sale in the area you want to live. These turn over as people's needs for housing change and I see for sale signs on Park Models everywhere we go unless it's truly a campground and those usually don't offer long term rental spaces. You might just find exactly what you're looking for.
