But I will tell you that I did hours and hours and hours of research, RVForum surfing and lurking. Talking to multiple people including a 'pal' who's a manager at a big RV place. (I didn't buy it there, too expensive)

It could be that I had already made up my mind what I wanted and was just looking for people who would validate my opinion (human nature) but I don't know. That could be the case. But I don't think so. I vacillated back and forth between going more expensive, cheaper, no Toy Hauler garage, used, Rear Living, Bunk House, etc, etc ad infinitum. For over 2 years.

But I think for the money, the quality, the tow-ability and all other things considered...... ??

Welcome to forums! For what it's worth, I have a travel trailer, and don't belong to any of the forums, but read from the "Newest" and just go down the list till I bump into the last post I read. By the way, the drop off at 24 hours, but the Active and Popular will return what folks are currently post on, even if the original post occurred more than 24 hours ago. So, my suggestion... read, read, read and enjoy, learn, share, and feel free to ask questions. Sometimes a question is better asked in a different forum (for example, Tow Vehicles, rather than Travel Trailer or Toy Hauler. I also find there are a lot of similarities between Toy Hauler, travel trailer, and Fifth Wheel that we all share the same issues. So, read them all. You'll learn a lot.

I'm able to park my camper at home. When reading these forums, I'll stumble into something, and next thing I know, I'm outside checking something in my camper, come back to the threads and make a post. Yup, happens a lot! So you just never know what you'll learn on here. After a lot of years, I'm still learning, and still have pleasant surprises, and every now and then, something I've never, ever considered. Those are the good moments!

Yeah, Ft Myers is usually nice this time of year. Not this year. It didn't cool off until around Christmas and it's been raining and/or cold most of the time since then

Oh well, it will come around. It always does.

I bought my TH because I can't take the Summer Heat down here anymore and we were looking at summer houses in Michigan, Indiana or Ohio and we could afford a cheaper House (barely) but the taxes and the other expenses would have KILLED us. We wouldn't have been able to do much other than sit around and watch Matlock re-runs. blech

My buddy from the Army lives between Lansing and Grand Rapids and has 5 acres up there. That's where I have the TH right now. I think. If it hasn't been covered by a snow drift.

So, we can keep the TH there; and no taxes, minimal insurance and not a lot of upkeep (I hope) and fly or drive back and forth. Hopefully. Don't plan to tow it a lot. Maybe some day at some point but I'm happy right now where it is.

That's boring but I thought I'd give you some background.

One of my major concerns is running sewer lines 400 feet to his septic tank. That's gonna be fun. But we'll figure it out.

Welcome, we are out west shoveling snow again! But it is all good, we started with our TH last year and have been having a blast till we got snowed in.

Welcome aboard! You didn't mention your name, but mine is Alan and we full-time in our TH. We were also new to RVs when we decided to take the leap at retirement and travel full time. You'll find plenty of help and advice on the forum.
