Newmar American Star 5th wheel

Hi, has anyone ever taken out carpeting and replaced with vinyl in this rig? I'm wondering if taking out the thicker carpet will leave a gap under the slide out when it's pulled in. I dont want to get into replacoing subfloor, etc. Any insight is appreciated.

    I replace the carpet with engineering wood in Kountry Star FW and I don't have any gaps.
