Northland rv /outdoor rv question

Question what is the overall opinion of the northland and outdoor rv. products?
  • We have ORV Glacier Peak fifth wheel, we looked at Arctic Fox as well before purchasing. What sold us on the ORV unit was the more modern interior, the AF looks too much like what my mother would like.

Both are quality units, with custom built frames, plywood not OSB....the other stuff is the same as everyone else's.

These are heavy buggers, and we have zero regrets on our purchase.
  • Northwood RV makes Artic Fox fifth wheels.
Outdoors RV makes Glacier Peak fifth wheels.
Both in LaGrange OR. And are sister companies, owned by Nash.
We toured the Outdoor RV plant last Oct. Both are great products. IMO the Glacier Peak is a little more higher scale. As far as quality you won't go wrong with either.
Both are western based & are heavier that most of equal length.

Northland RV was purchased by Pacific Coachworks a couple years ago. Northland was more of an truck camper manufacturer. Are you sure that is the brand you were looking for?
  • Outdoor RV is also located in Oregon, and also builds their own frames. I have heard that they are owned by Nash as well and share many of the quality features of Arctic Fox like the frames, shocked suspension, plywood construction. Outdoors RV is the company we are looking at as they build high quality shorter 5th wheels. They have a series of videos on their site which highlight some of their quality differences.

OP you might want to edit your post, it is hard to understand what you are asking.

  • If you are talking about Northwood Arctic Fox then yes they are a quality product. We ordered one back in October and it should be at the dealer by the end of this month. I currently have an Alpenlite and a Newmar. The Arctic Fox was the only one I could stomach at this time besides the custom jobs. They are built extremely well and the attention to detail is there. Not overly fancy but built to last. They are the only mass produced manufacturer left that makes there own frames since the demise of Lifestyle. There is only one dealer in Texas. We flew to Arizona to look at the two models we were interested in. My wife then flew to Lagrande to check the factory out and get in touch with the area rep. We deleted a lot of things, and added others. Hope it is half the trailer the Alpenlite has been and I will be happy.
