Still lost.....
When the genny is running, it is supposed to generate more than 12V. That is how gennys, alternators etc work.
Check your alternator in your car when it is running, it should be putting out around 14V. Then check the positive at your battery when the car is running, also more than 12V.
Oh well, if it works for you. - versicomExplorerthe wires from the geni to the fuel pump were producing more than 12v. Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions. Turns out the fuel pump died likely because my meter said it was getting too much voltage. Quick $40 fix. I wired the fuel pump directly to the battery with a wireless switch to make sure it only gets 12v. Cheers!
Glad you're up and running, but you lost me.
How does a switch make sure it only gets 12v ...?
Are you plugged into shore power when you get "too much voltage" ?
Yeah, I'm lost on this one also.....

- ksg5000ExplorerHave you checked the fuel level of the RV - most rigs require at least 1/4 tank for generator to run (safety feature so you don't get stranded).
- BedlamModeratorCheck oil level to see if it is low. If oil level and fuel is fine, turn off breakers and try to start again. If it works, you have an electrical short that shutting the Onan down.
I used to run my generator twice a month, so I never had problems with gas sitting in the carburetor and varnishing up. If yours has been sitting more than a month, you may be experiencing clogged jets or bad gas. - VulcanmarsExplorerDo the simplest first, pull the fuel line off the filter and prime (hold rocker switch in off position). Pump runs, no fuel, replace fuel filter try again...
