Pulled the 5vr in my signature for two years with a 2500 D/A, no real issues but most trips were around 100 miles round trip. Upgraded to the 1 ton as I didn't feel good towing 2000 miles one way to the east coast, BIG DIFFERENCE! Still the same drive train but when pulling a 5vr right around 15,000# and a pin weight around 3000# loaded for bear, no doubt, 1 ton is the way to go. Especially with the minimal price difference. Love the engine brake and Allison of the GM line but all 3 have good and bad. As for the "CP4 issue", who cares, extended warranty baby!
