Thread on here about 2 weeks ago stating this. No picture was included, but at least 2 people stated that they'd seen the same thing.

I would also like to see a photo - because altering this on a NEW tire would be illegal. Used tires aren't regulated.
And just to complete the picture: Sometimes tire manufacturers will use a plate that completely covers the old information. They do that so they can produce different Load Ranges out of the same molds - and those plates wouldn't look like the information was altered. It might look at little less than professional, but certainly would look correctly positioned and stamped and original to the mold.
