The Sailun tires are made in China according to the US rep in FL. Kenda is another brand that comes up and at least for the auto application, reviews are quite favorable. Like the Sailun's, they too are made in China or Tawain. Cost wise, the Sailun's and Kenda's are about 150 bucks as opposed to GY's $325. Anyone ever hear/use Kendas? What about warranty for either brand? Not sure about switch rims to 17.5. Just hate like heck to spend 1300 bucks, but at same time want something of quality and assurance.
The Sailuns are made in China, BUT meet ISO certifications of TS16949 standards that MY company has to meet to produce a Quality recognized product and to compete globally... I KNOW Sailun tires meet stringent manufacturing and Quality processes...I don't know that about Kenda, nor a PILE of them "made in China"..(no certifications that I'm aware of by these manufacturers).
Use to be the only "game in town" when it came to a "G" rated tire was/is GY G614's..Now Sailun has come along, manufacturing a quality product, (or they WOULDN'T get TS 16949 certification...I know this from my experience with this audit at our manufacturing plant). I know there are other "G" rated tires out there, but at this time, there are only 2 I would even give a second glance, and that is GY G614's and the Sailun S637... I will look at them when it's time to replace my GY G614's....I will purchase 5 of them, so I doubt, from all reviews we've had with the Sailuns, IF I go that route, that I would have so many tires fail at once, that I would be stranded on the road waited to try to find another Sailun tire...I would have a spare...
Pretty sure OP was talking G rated tires, not E or H rated tires..
