progressive industries 50 amp hardwire question

The reason we did not get the portable is that our 50 amp cable detaches from the socket.

I can't forget my hardwired one nor can someone steal it.

That is why I like my portable EMS that I plug into the pedestal. I always know what I have before I even plug in the trailer.

I mounted it right inside the compartment door.

My socket is 18 inches aft of the compartment door. My breaker is near the bathroom. I would of had to crawl thru pipes and wires to get to it or take it off the front and disturb all sorts of wiring. This just seemed much simpler.

where did you mount the EMS? My socket is in the back corner and the fuse panel is in a kitchen cabinet.

I haven't experienced that situation.....yet, but if it happened and there was no other site available, I'd see if the maintenance folks could fix the pedestal fault or move on. I would NOT shut down the EMS. Electronics are too costly.

I plan on removing the wiring from the breaker box and connecting that to the input side of the surge protector and then adding a new piece of wiring from the surge protector to the breaker box.
