I agree with your comments. I as you have the right to express opinions and buy and use what we choose.
Using your head based on actual life experiences will give you knowledge and you can do what you want based on your experiences. Do you believe Craftsman when they say their Shop Vac develops 6HP? I don't, I also don't believe the claims of some of the Chicom junk in this country like floor jacks that say 3 ton capacity when I have a Quality US Made Jack that is so much more robust but only is rated at two tons.
I will stick with a lesser rated product I know is far superior.
Again, thanks for your response, as I am the OP, I asked about Pullrite and Curt. Since I am the one that asked, you are right, those are my opinions, which is what I believe. I am not the one trying to explain myself here, but I can...I am an Aerospace Engineer and a Systems Engineer, while having the opportunity to fly in the US Navy (and still do). I live my life by the limits of the equipment I operate and design. So, while you think I am expressing my opinion as to the equipment I desire to operate within the limitations that are provided, I am telling you, there is no second chances, especially when you have taken it upon yourself to exceed the published limits. The weight capacities that are given, fall into the realm of "shall", which in my world, failure to comply will result in serious injury or death....enough said.
Both Pullrite and Curt are made in the USA and both seem to be superior products. Both have produced a product that has advertised limits I desire to operate. While I know a lot of folks with B&W (I will admit, I am impressed with their product), they lack the presence in the heavier towing opportunities that have become quite the norm...
