Another option is to go to an after market upfitter, the guys who install flatbeds or utility bodies, they probably can do your spring upgrade and issue a "remanufactered" Data Plate with an upgraded GVWR. This is what happens with larger trucks, they come with cab and frame rails, whoever puts whatever body on it issues a new data plate with updated GVWR.
Note: I didn't want to imply a "dually" was needed, only that it was over the GVWR. A SRW with the proper GVWR of course would be fine.
