  • I passed on the same model on clearance for around $10k more. Glad I did, a bit more weight (when fully loaded for living) than I want to pull with my 05 DRW. Yes, it would have probably been fine but it's all about being comfortable. There were a couple other factors in my decision but the weight was the main one.
  • My 2013 36RE fully loaded and a full water tank. 15,500#, 12,200 on the axles and 3300 on the pin. 200# less than my TC.

Adam Ant, Do you have a washer/dryer and a genny in yours?

No way with a 3/4. I towed ours home empty from Texas with a 1-ton. Added our equipment and you can see the DRW I drive now. Pin weight is over 4,300 lbs with water, 3,600 without. The only difference between the RE and RL is the television is on the back wall on an RE instead of the side like an RL.

If pin weight is 25% of gross 5er weight and water adds 700lbs (4300-3600=700) to pin weight, you must be hauling 2800lbs of water. WOW!!!! Or maybe you have a king size waterbed directly over the pin.

That sounds almost too good to be true!! If you have the cash. Jump on it and trade up the TV...
  • IMO, if you already have a 2500HD, or equivalent 3/4 ton with appropriate diesel engine, you CAN "jazz" it up to handle extra weight. No, it won't change the sticker on the door pillar re GVWR, but it will allow you to avoid blow outs, etc. I installed Air Lift airbags and Vision 19.5" wheels with BFG, ST230, 19.5" tires. Not going to blow out those babies. I've towed mine for a couple of thousand miles now, in heavy winds with no problems. Good luck.
