Ref working without batteries

I would recommend 100 watts solar for every RV.

Um, solar panel to keep the battery(ies) charged?

Thanks for all the replies. We did it once before for 5 days, and the batteries were very low we had to plug into the truck to raise the 5th/W. maybe we can find a campground with elect.in the storage area.

Foods bad, portions are small, service is slow, but at least the price is low!

You have no way of knowing that.

Then I realized that I have no way of knowing that it WILL either.

I think it is likely that a single battery won't last.....but that two or more will.

A test would be in order.

Thank kind of sounds like you could be describing a lousy restaurant: "Yeah, the food is really bad, and the portions are so small".

If the batteries are fully charged and in good shape they might even go a week idling the trailer and running the fridge.

Ref needs 12V DC to function......controls/circuit board/temp sensing/heat cycling etc.

Battery will not last the full week..........ref will shut down....food will spoil...ref will stink


EMPTY fridge prior to storage

If you are careful about having everything else turned off......just the ref. and CO/propane alarms should NOT kill your batteries in a week.....IF they are healthy and fully charged going in.

If it does, you need to test your batteries or review your 12 V system capacity and charging.
