We camp in the Florida Keys a lot and have 2 small dogs. Has anyone replaced a lot of their carpet with laminate flooring? The unit is 10 years old and carpet getting rough.

I am in the process of replacing most of the carpet in our 5th wheel. In during research I think you will discover that laminate is not a good choice as it swells with moisture. I can say that is true as the laminate in our bedroom got wet and swelled / buckled. Most advise using the vinyl plank flooring as it is moisture resistant. Also to use the click lock method over the glue strips.I am using this product from Home Depot.Sawcut Arizona Hope this helps!Dave

We pulled our carpet up in the living room and replaced it with 16" square vinyl tiles. If everyone knew how much dirt goes through that carpet and accumulates under it, they would pull it out in a heartbeat. We love the vinyl tiles, bought at Home Depot and laid down with glue. We tried the vinyl planks first in the bedroom and they just weren't laying right so pulled them out and used the vinyl tiles. Easy to clean, looks great

We have always had pets with us when we camped. Our Solitude came with laminate floors, carpet in bedroom, and on the main slide. A few years ago we had a class A DP and replaced the carpet there. That was a great choice for us. Two things that really surprised me, first that carpet weighed a ton! I did not actually weigh it but in a 40 foot DP it must have weighed a couple hundred pounds! The laminate weighed 80. Second, I consider ourselves to be "clean" people. we vacuumed and even steam cleaned the carpet. But when it was removed it held a ton of dirt! Putting in laminate would be the right thing to do, IMHO! Good luck.

We are ordering all laminate in our new cc so the only carpet will be in the bedroom. Has anyone has issues with the cc laminate or congoleum flooring?
