Replacing Recliners

Hi - I want to replace the recliners in my rig so I'd appreciate any suggestions from those who've have gone down this path.

Which manufacturer and model did you get ?

How did you get them into your 5th wheel ? Do they have to have to have removable backs to get them inside ?

Is there a store in a particular location that seems to have a good selection of RV sized recliners ? For example, is there a particular LazyBoy store somewhere that seems to have a great selection ? I'm full timing so I could stop by if I'm in the neighborhood.

Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Tim
  • We replaced the sofa, and both swivel rockers with three Stressless recliners. So comfortable. Works for us....
  • Get the chance look at the Ashley store if you find one close by they have been furnishing some for a few years "BUT have not seen one in a fiver". Just passing on info.
  • Best theater seating here also. Only 62" wide total. I have some Lazy Boy at home, not all that impressed so went looking else where. Best has better selection IMO.
  • I did as MC9 and got the Best Furniture ones. Ours have to be turned sideways to allow the dual slides to come in and were limited on width. We ordered ours in the narrow width that we required with our choice of coverings. We also got the wall huggers so we wouldn't be hitting the rear windows.

I ordered mine from a store near where they are made in SW Indiana. We had been camping near our son's so we had the 5er with us. We just took swatches out and compared them on site.
  • Oh...and we gained 6-8 inches between theater seats and dining room chair...another plus!
  • I replaced mine with recliners from Best Furnishings they are made in Indiana. they seem to have a large line of rv sized stuff. A lot of stores carry the line. Look em up. Half the price of Lazyboy. Turned them sideways and curled em in the door..
  • We changed ours out to real theater seating....much better than the OEM recliners AND the Lazyboys we put in the old fiver...AND they were less expensive than LB.

We bought Seatcraft Venetians from 4seating.com...they are a straight row of two, top grain leather, power recline with storage compartments, cup holders and removable trays.

The backs come off and are separate when shipped...they were packaged very well, shipped by freight (free), and arrived in about a week.
