Riding around during hunting season, etiquette question

My buddy just bought a house in Northern California. The hunting zone for the area is X6A. I am told hunting season starts 1st Saturday of October and lasts 16 days. Wife and I would like to take our quads/MC's up to see his house this weekend and go riding. Is this bad etiquette concerning the hunters?

We don't want to tick-off people with guns! LOL

I wouldn't worry too much about the etiquette, I would be more concerned about getting shot! Wait another 2 weeks or until after the season ends, then go see his house. Be more concerned about those that shoot, then think about what they are shooting. It happens all the time, so be safe.

Have had rounds fly be me in the past. No longer will go in the forest during hunting season.
  • We always try to avoid areas that are open to deer/rifle season out of courtesy and safety.

I know the forest belongs to all of us and we can do as we please, but they only have a few weeks of the year to do their business.

  • In our area it is. Hunting season opens tomorrow and we went for our last ride this past weekend. We will not bother the hunters, as we try to be good neighbors and expect the same from them during their early scouting trips.
