Rockers

We have just purchased a Jayco HT 28.5RSTS with two rockers on the slide-out side. We were told by the salesperson that when travelling, the rockers can face toward the centre of the trailer. There is a floor-mounted webbing strand that can tie around the circular base of the rockers, but they still rock back and forth with movement. I'm concerned that damage will be done to the side and back wall of the slide-out. Does anyone know how these units can be secured?

We haven't ever tied down chairs just push tight to wall. Dining table chairs just tight to table never an issue.
  • The rocker/recliners in our trailer have a handle underneath in the front. We can use this to lock the rocking function during travel.
Push the handle in and they rock and swivel again....
    Check underneath yours....maybe, hopefully???
  • Our chairs, Euro recliners not rockers, have the tie downs going across the seat cushion, under the arms. This might work for you, depending on how your arms are.

  • On a Montana I had, the two rockers in the rear living area, were turned back to back and then strapped down. They did not rock in that position. Is that a possibility in your rig?
  • Is the tie down adjustable? On a previous trailer the strap went from the floor over the arms and back to floor on opposite side and held the chairs securely.
