When the seller was showing how the handle worked that would have been a no buy for me.

But this assumes that everybody that tows a large trailer should know how to hook up a large trailer.
I can not wrap my head around the idea, that after the pin is captured, bar/jaws behind it, you must do something else with the handle to be sure it does not escape...

Compared to the RV minimal damage it was "Crushed".

It WAS!!! It simply did not have the slide handle engaged to keep the jaw in place.

That would all depend of your definition of "CRUSHED"

As I said before, you could buy that dually bed at the salvage yard for $1000 or less with tailgate, lots of them around, at least around here, and paint it all yourself for another $400.
Call it $1500.00 and a weekend. That's the non-crushed option.

Or you could drop it off at the body shop, they could order both bedsides and tailgate new for @ $2800, maybe Chinese aftermarket for less, and then charge at least double that much for the labor to weld/glue them on and the painting. Call it $8500 min, probably a lot more. It might end up around $10K+ all said and done. On that vintage of truck it would just about total it out. That's the crushed option.

Then you have the uncrush option where you beat it all up with hammers,slap a lot of bondo around, and then sand your rear end off and paint it. You crushed to damage it and crush it the other way to fix it LOL.

What do you think the chances are the Youtuber is still carrying comprehensive on a 2006, or maybe even a 2004? That would be stupid IMO.

The more I think about it the more I believe it was staged to get views.
