rv direct

Has anyone deal with rv direct? Just recived a quote , msrp was 69k they want 46k. One yr old unit 13 model yr. No one else comes close

Tks;)
  • Great sales team, prep is mediocre if your picky like me, after the sale warranty service is non-existent and painfully slow. Whatever brand you buy from them, be sure you have a good independent repair center. I have two companies near me, so it's less frustrating. Just as an example, I'm still waiting for my first claim to be paid that I filed through them in May...... After that I've gone through the companies who made the product or an independent shop working with Jayco.

However, at the end of the day this was the compromise I made to save $5k dollars off anyone within two states.
  • Had great experience in ordering, paying for unit, great PDI, worked with Forest River directly on the one small warranty item. I have an independent dealer that I use - got the check back from FR within two weeks. Have no FR dealers near by & saved several dollars by buying from RV-Direct.
  • One usually gets what they pay for.....chances are you will have to go somewhere to pickup your unit....always good to include type and details in post...and time you drive to unknown prep person and who knows what kind of hitch installation you might have to find....the price begins to seem less important.....I shopped around and found a dealer that I could drive to that had A+ reputation that met and maybe beat the price they offered....but each to his own....plus when you find out about the tax tags and other incidentals.hmmm
  • Good point, they did everything over the phone and through FedEx. The unit was delivered to Maine from NY state where RVDirect is located. I don't let other people install a hitch - so for me that's no cost I installed it myself at home. Price didn't include my state sales tax. The $5k I saved INCLUDED delivery and my sales tax. Those are the details.
  • Yes, I would buy from them again. Had a flawless experience, a nice 838 mile drive to pick up the trailer in Elkhart, and the savings was well worth it. Had one fridge recall handled at local dealer (who didn't sell that brand). Installed my own hitch prior, no issues at all.
  • Good experience. Picked up the unit in Ohio - made a three day trip out of it to check it out there, then pull it back. Saved a lot of money. Decent walk-thru. They will be the first one I check when it's time to buy again.
  • They are the real deal. Factory ordered my Jayco Pinnacle through them and I can say nothing but GOOD things about them. PDI was great, the techs even came in at six am. to do the work because I arrived early. Everything was taken care of and because I live in Canada the customs papers etc. were all in a neat package and all went very well, thanks to the whole staff at their Des Moines dealership.
  • I bought my Rockwood Sig. UltraLight through RV Direct, and was hands down thrilled with the buy price, the customer service, and the walkthrough, set up and prep of the unit. Would definitely buy from them again. Have a local RV service center, and no issues whatsoever.
  • Many years ago, I printed off the RV Direct invoice and canvassed my local dealers to see if they could match it. The common dealer response was, "I hate the Internet." One local dealer basically matched the deal, so I bought local.

BTW, in Texas, you still pay the taxes when you try to register the out of state purchase.
