So everybody knows Louisiana now has the inspection law on a rv.
Yes and the new revised law exempts the "homemade" single axel boat trailers that don't have any lights. Politics! - darsbenExplorer II

Yeah, right. Hell, you're in Casa Grande. Head to the store and see how many cars are registered in the lot. I've seen too damn many trucks and cars with no, or stolen, registration to count. Being in Pinal, you don't even have emissions. Add on top of that all the landscaping and farm carts... They can't even stop junk trucks hauling produce in from May-hee-co.

My vehicles all registered in NYS I wish Az had a state inspection that had teeth
If it is on the highway it should have to be inspected! - NC_HaulerExplorer

Can someone tell me how many folks have been injured or killed by uninspected, unsafe trailers? Only commercial trailers are inspected in Massachusetts...I can't believe the People Republic of Massachusetts hasn't figured out yet another way to get $$ out of its residents.....I'm not aware of travel trailers flying off cars and being an uninspected nuisance on our roads.
That's what I was getting at...seemed like the poster that you and I quoted is talking about vehicle inspections...this post was about 5er inspections. How many inspection stations doing 5er inspections are going to check brakes?....REALLY ?? Tires, yeah, if they do, break away working? all lights working, signal, brake and running lights?....'bout it... Wonder how many have failed inspection and had to bring it back with brand new tires, or ALL lights working, or replaced non-working break away? Just curious... - RbertalottoExplorer

If you don't get it inspected you don't registered. No big deal
- ChooChooMan74ExplorerRhode Island has a trailer inspection law. No one I know gets them inspected.
- korbeExplorerAt the ag inspection station coming into California, the attendant once peeked into my frig. Does that count?
- vietvet66-67ExplorerPennsylvania has been inspecting trailers over 300# for many years. They check the brakes, tires, lights, and battery for the emergency braking and the hookup between the trailer and truck for braking and lights. Here if you fail for something you can take it out and fix it and bring it back and get your sticker.
Generally if it is a small repair it is cheaper to let them fix it than the cost of fuel to go back and forth. LOL. - fixn2gocampExplorerWhat type of inspection are you talking about? Have had our motor home safety inspected along with car for several years. Is this on trailers? Have heard State troopers have begun to enforce trailer inspections.

We have it in Texas also, always have. I have owned an RV for 7 years and never got it inspected. Well recently Texas has gone to a one tag system. Registration tag will not be issued until safety inspection has been passed. So last month I had my RV inspected for the first time ever.
And that applies to all trailers with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of over 4,500 lbs
First time in 8 yrs for my 5er. Checked lights, looked at tires, verified I had a breakaway switch, although they did not check to see if it worked. Did not even check the brakes. $7 please.
