Here in CNY the GY G614's are $325.00 - $350.00. Sailun's S637 online.....$155.00. Set of 4 GY = $1300.00. Set of 4 Sailun's = $600.00. Could buy 2 extra Sailuns and have for spares!!!
Just to keep the numbers in perspective, damages to our previous 5th wheel from the last tire failure I had in 2007 > $2500. That makes it much easier for me to pay for the best tires I can put under our RV.

No insurance? Or do you pay insurance premiums and also a high priced tire premium? I figure I have insurance to pay for damages. The money I saved buying the Sailun tires will pay the deductible, if necessary.
And AFATG there's no data in yet that says the Goodyear tires are any better than the Sailun tires. In fact, quite the contrary.
The Sailun G tire hasn't been out long enough to have a history, so it would be unfair to say they are more reliable than the GY.
This is the threshold we all must pick a path at - Buy the US product that is the backbone of our industrial might - or bite the carrot dangling out there from the profit eyed importer with Asian replicates? The more carrots you bite, the less US options you have later, and in the end, you have total reliance on what the importer fed you and the US couldn't build a paper bag if it had to. We might already be too late.
I heard China want's to compete with Boeing - I really hope I'm gone by then.
