- rv2goExplorer III bought my HughesNet Internet system 10 years ago. Back then it was about the only real option to have internet away from a metro area.
It is slow and download capabilities are limited. On the other hand, If I have a clear view of the southern sky, I have internet in the most remote places. I have shared with near by campers so they can send/receive email. Even text messages.
With all it's faults, I dread the day when it dies. Service is almost extent. - jayhardyExploreror the Verizon Jetpack 4G????
- jayhardyExplorerIs the Verizon 4G one of those Mifi units
- HalmfamilyExplorerWe had HughesNet for two years. Every time a cloud went over the internet slowed to crawl. If we exceeded our daily limit the internet slowed to a crawl. I accidentally and barely bumped the pole with the dish with my zero and had to have the dish realigned.
Verizon 4G has been great for us. Almost always have service and great speed.
Forgot to mention, expensive use and install. Verizon was a third the price. - donn0128Explorer IITerribly expensive for the equipment and monthly fees for basically dial up speeds. Not many people use it any longer. 4G cell based service is the best choice for most full timers.
