I really don't think it matters which brand you get. Buy the one you like.
My .02 - If you want to buy one truck that you will use for a looong time and maybe for your current and future 5th wheels, then get a crew cab long bed dually diesel and be done with it.
I have a dually diesel. There's more to a dually, then just the increased payload capacity. I pulled across South Dakota a couple months ago and the wind was howling the entire trip. My rig never gave a hint of any kind of instability.
I also know that I can pull just about any 5th wheel or camper trailer I could ever want with this truck. No need to upgrade if I want a bigger 5th wheel. And going up or down mountains is a breeze. I don't care how high the pass is because it just doesn't matter. I full time and I've been wandering around Wyoming now for about a month seeing the sights. Headed to Colorado in about a week or so.
Admittedly, Attila the truck is a pain in close quarters such as parking lots, but I'm now used to just parking farther out and taking up 2 spaces.
You will never hear anybody who owns one of these diesel trucks say they wish they had a gasser instead. In fact, I don't want to own any kind of gas vehicle ever again if I can get a diesel instead.
