Balanced tires makes shocks less necessary and dramatically reduces wear on the suspension components.
Agree...have only seen shocks on heavier 5er's....and balanced tires seem to help stability. BUT, on the heavier 5er'...having towed mine with the OEM shocks that came on it and then replacing them with the Monroe Severe duty shock...I could tell a difference in stability of the unit when towing AND when set up for camping.
