Well those that state a car doesn't need shock has never seen one without going down the road!!
Does a 5er or TT NEED them, well there are thousands of them without and seem do do fine, myself, darn right I have shocks keeps the chucking down and if you ever watch your trailer over rough road with and without there is a big difference. The need to be installed correctly and keep in good repair.
I just love the post of those that will put high end shocks on the TV, but ignore putting them on the trailer!! If you are trying to control bounce at the hitch, half of that bounce comes from the trailer.
