- DutchmenSportExplorerI've had all 3 types in the house: plastic (or fiberglass), Stainless, and porcelain. Of the 3, we dislike stainless the most. Why? Too danged hard to keep looking nice. Any water spots, food, spills, anything ... stand out like a soar thumb. Like stainless steel doors on refrigerators and dishwashers, there are always noticeable finger prints, smudges, and something that always looks like gunk on them. Personally, cleaning and polishing is something we do not flip head over heals to do!
- naturistNomadTo each their own. Buy the one you like and enjoy the hell out of it. Anybody objects, kindly invite them to buy their own **** sink. It's really pretty simple.
I prefer SS to plastic myself. "All that polishing" has never been a problem for me. I don't like having scumminess in my sink, (or, for that matter, in my pots and pans) and I like being able to see when it is there. A little Bar Keeper's Friend and a wet paper towel makes for 10 seconds of rubbing and I can SEE it's clean and shiny.
But YMMV. - jnharleyExplorerWe on the ther hand could have gotten a stainless steel sink as an option and declined. We really do not like the way stainless looks and it requires all that polishing to make it look nice. We are happy with our high end composite sink.
- KittykathExplorer IIOur plastic sink would have been a deal breaker if it wasn't able to be changed out for SS.
- md_procoupleExplorerI guess so lol. I agree with donn0128, S/s steel is the only way to go. We had the plastic sinks on our pop-up, and our Jayco, both ended up with stains, and in our Jayco, a melted spot when accidently put a hot pot in the sink. In our opinion Stainless Steel sinks and porcelain toilets the only way to go. Good Luck and Happy Camping !!
