Step to reach hitch pin

I used to have a step that is put on the rear wheel. All metal. I have a dually and while reaching for something in the bed I put my knee onto the fender and when I put my weight on the fender, I put a ding in it. It's still there and I can see it every time I look in the driver's mirror. My 2 step has never given out on me when leaning over the fender. I just used it yesterday to fill my aux diesel tank. Fuel is pretty expensive right now and going up in price.

My issue is the hips on our DRW make it a bit of a reach,

^This is a case of TOO much truck! A SRW would be more than sufficient for your trailer, problem solved! :B

Well I would have maxed out the payload on the same year Ram CC LB with 12,300# GVWR and 4,200# payload! We lost 1,411# of payload to us, Belle, in bed tool box and hitch. The pin on our 5er is 2,700# or total of 4,111# that is a bit close.
This is something many miss when looking at payload, it isn’t just the pin weight, it is everything added to the TV.

I think mine is a three step, but it's the same idea. I also find many uses for it around the campsite as well as on the road. I'm only 195 pounds, but I am 89 years old so that counts for something.

I use a 3 step also & it comes in handy pretty regular.

I stand on the wheel or tire if I need extra height.

I gave your steps a link. My issue is the hips on our DRW make it a bit of a reach, this works great. Unlike folding stool/steps, it won't kick out when you lean in.

I have one in my shop so if you come North of Seattle I will make you a great deal. The AMP step is useless as it mounts at the front of the bed so I created the perfect bed step IMHO.

I use a folding plastic step LIKE THIS. They come in a number of different brands and costs.

I had the same prob and asked the fine folks here the exact same thing. Solution: A foldable metal step that goes over the rear tire that simply folds up and gets placed inside the box leaning up against the outside wall. Works great. BUT (isn't there a always one of these?), 2 things to watch for. 1. cotter pins may fall out. 2. Careful not to hit side of box (outside/painted) when taking in/out. Has many adjustments and once it's set, don't have to fuss w/ it again. Forgot where I purchased it from, but want to say Amazon???
