Storage - Slides out?

IMO - main reason why *NOT* to (anywhere) is someone cuts a corner too close when entering their site and hits a (your) slide..:(

Soooooo - keep your eye out for one of the "slide out" owners to be at the storage facility the same time as you - - and ask him.

So now slides are out .... yes ... easier access.

These farmers around where I live, it has to be for easy access, I can also see they are plugged into shore power 24x7 also. (just trying to figure out a logical reason to help the OP out with his question).

If you ever have the opportunity to meet anyone parked there, be sure to ask them why. Then come back here and post their reasons. You've got my curiosity going now also!

I store on my own property. Rarely leave the slide out overnight.

When you see them stored out, there is always the possibility someone is living in it at least part time. For husbands especially, it can be a very nicely furnished doghouse.

That is odd. I put out my slides to do work or cleaning but can't think of another reason. I also think it would be harder on the slide seals and roof or toppers to leave them out although I guess full timers would know best.

Only reasons I can see is to make it easier to pull the trailer out by having an extra 2-3 feet on each side after pulling the slides in, or because they have to load / unload in the storage yard, and again leave them open to reserve space for later.

I can't think of any reason to leave the slides out in storage. I think that the rubber seals might weather more. Same reason people cover their tires when not traveling. Just a thought.

We can't access our bathroom because the door won't open unless the slide is out at least part way. But it seems safer with the slides in, and we always store our rig with the slide in, and put it out only if we need to get into the bathroom.
