Unfortunately, the pictures have all been deleted as they (probably) were all part of a link to the posters Picasa (or other) account.

However, there is *extensive* discussion from posters who viewed the pics.

It should be noted - this was a SG from *before* the coated way tubes,
which required lubrication with either white lithium grease or Slip Plate.

I could find - between Google *AND* going back as far as "Pullrite
SuperGlide" (year 2000) in the archives!.:h

Yes - I went "generic" just to be sure (15 pages worth).

Not uncommon for folks to post their problems -as the OP did- as opposed to post the good stuff (success stories).
Not knocking it - just human nature.

A great example would be try a search on any forum (or Google) for
Goodyear Marathon tires. Yikes!.:R

Certainly, SuperGlide owners would *like* to see any further examples of failures.

I just got a new truck and had them swap the superglide to it so today I checked the install and looked over the hitch...
all looks good except for a layer of dust where it sat for a while...

I rinsed it off, wiped it down, and resprayed with wd-40 while looking closely at the rails... they are shiny after a year in the bed...
I will say from day one it's had a bed cover over it, so that may contribute to the shiny side of it :)

So why do they specify WD-40? Because it inhibits rust on the way tubes, and helps protect the powder coated and painted portions of the hitch.

I still cannot understand how the hitch hung up mid way in a 45 deg angle, when going down a highway. But that isn't important. The fact is, it did and it tore things up. Never heard of that before, unless a foreign object gets lodged in the hitch, or lack of maintenance. And I don't think a lack of WD-40 ion your Delrin insert hitch is the problem.

Now on to your question. A manual slider is a real PITA. A Sidewinder is automatic. And pretty foolproof. If the Sidewinder works for you, that is your best choice if you need a shortbed truck. But I would consider a long bed truck, when a truck replacement is needed.
