Currently I have a Pullrite 4400 18K fifth wheel hitch. I would like to swap it out for a B&W Patriot 18K sliding hitch. Question, will the rails I have now in the bed of my truck fit the Patriot hitch?
Curious why you would swap an automatic slider for a manual slider.I know from a good friend there are some drawbacks to the Pullrite, but IMO ,and I have towed with two different manual sliding hitches , they are a just a pain to use, I got to the point where I would unhitch to slide it back, didn't like the way it slammed back, not terrible but a bit nerve racking.
I actually only used it to back into my RV pad beside my home ,it was a tight fit, and pulling the slider back it seemed to turn ,and respond a little quicker, other then that it was never needed in the 12 years I have been towing a fifth wheel with a short bed .
I switched to an Andersen hitch a year ago, would NEVER go back to a conventional hitch least of all a slider. It might be worth looking into an Andersen. The friend I mentioned above dumped his pullrite for the Andersen, and will never go back to a slider of any kind again either.
The Andersen we have is mounted to the industry standard rails, mine on the picture frame adapter that fits the OEM puck system, my friend had the Superglide that fit the standard rails, if that 4400 Pullrite of yours was attached to standard rails, but I don't think so, but if so , then the Andersen will fit it, if not neither the B&W or Andersen will most likely not fit those rails you have for the 4400. Whatever hitch you get you could possibly need different rails, as said only way to know is to call B&W .
