- TucsonJimExplorer III know some folks have pretty good history with CHINA BOMBS. It would be interesting to see a mileage breakdown between those that have had CHINA BOMB tire trouble and those who haven't. I average 10,000 miles per year on my FW. Looking at the history of failures, it usually happens on average at 6-7K miles.

- wilber1ExplorerI have had two sets of Marathons over the past 14 years. My rigs have been over tired compared to many, 235/80 16E's on 5ers that grossed 10K and 12 K respectively. 80 PSI, I keep them covered when not towing and don't tow over 65 MPH. 9 years on the first US made set and 5 years on the current Chinese made set which I transferred over to my new rig. No failures yet.

Not made in America! - boshogExplorerWell folks, I've got to tell you that reading the several tire issue threads on this forum has me very concerned. I've seen pictures of tire failures from many brands including the Marathons and frankly, I have no idea were the line between a "china bomb" and a dependable tire lays.
So I bought a new Montana 3790RD last season and the wife and I plan on going full time traveling the country next year. This is the tire that came with the Montana;

Are these tires "china bombs"? - Dave_H_MExplorer IIwish i had a cartoon to post with someone with his finners stuck in his ears. :B

IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS
DALLAS DIVISION
TRANS-TEXAS TIRE, LLC, a Texas
Limited Liability Company
Plaintiff,
v.
TIANJIN WANDA TYRE GROUP CO.,
LTD., a Chinese Corporation, ZHANG
GUANGHUI, and LI XUE YONG,
Defendants.
CIVIL ACTION NO. 3:15-CV-1025
JURY
PLAINTIFF’S ORIGINAL COMPLAINT
Looks like the texas Tire,LLC group bought and sent several sizes of ST tire molds the the Wanda group in china for Jaxxon ST production.
Seems as china corp Wanda produced and marketed other tire brands from these molds with out the Texas group permission.
Now the Texas group has the Wanda tire group in us district court suing to get their tire molds back.
I wouldn't mess with a Jaxxon ST tire unless your just needing a cheap tire. The ST tire molds in the complaint are bias ply tires. - CKNSLSExplorer

I must be in the minority here because I have been using Chinese made ST tires for over 15 years now, and have never had one failure.
Carlisle RH tires that have been out about 5 years have had very few failures reported. The most failures recently reported have been Maxxis, but yet they continue to be recommended on here without impunity.
Go figure. It's the same rhetoric on this forum. Nobody speeds with ST tires-yet I get passed all the time with rigs going faster than what the ST tires are rated for.
I'll stop here because my last post was apparently deleted. - FabguyExplorerI must be in the minority here because I have been using Chinese made ST tires for over 15 years now, and have never had one failure.
- MPI_MallardExplorerIf "China Bombs" is too harsh a word maybe we can find a better way of describing these inferiorly made tires like say,, LOOK WHAT THOSE "LOUSY IMPORTED P.O.S. TIRES" DID TO MY FIVER!!!
I replaced them all with Goodyear 614 RST (235/85 R16) and haven't looked back!!
