I have a GMC 08 Duramax 2500 that needs new tires. Old ones have 60,000 on them. I pull a 35 foot cedar creek about 11,000 lbs. The last thing I want is tire trouble on the road so I am open to any advice.ThanksBob

so you're not happy with what's on there? 60,000 miles sounds pretty good to me.

Bob, if you have 60,000 towing miles on your current tires I would think you're doing pretty good. Are you wanting to add additional capacity or just buy the same size tires?

Whats wrong with the old ones? If you got 60k out of them then get another set of the same brand and size. Look at the plate on your door frame for tire size, thats the size for the configuration of your truck to pull the loads it is rated for.

I wish I could get that much mileage. I put BFGoodrich on last spring. Michelns lasted less then 30, 000. Better stay withnwhat you have.

I never had a tire problem on the road with 3 sets of Michliens. No problems at home either. Now have Firestones on it.

F350 with Nitto terra grabbers 90,000 on them still had lots of tread left . changed them after 7 years.

Original tires on my YukonXL 2500 only gave me ~40-50K miles. Next set was Michelins that weren't completely done at 120K but I replaced them anyway at that point since I didn't expect to keep the vehicle beyond 200K. I traded it in at ~180K last year, tires still had good tread on them. I'm a believer in Michelins.

All my new trucks factory tires wore well, I guess where everything was tight it helped with the tire wear. 60K is very good wear from a set of tires when the truck has been used to tow.

OK guys I went with the same tire I had. I had 60,000 and probably could have gotten another 5,000.
They are Bridgestone LT26570R17 Dueller Duravis.
Hope they are as good as the last ones. Thanks for all your replies.

I got over 100K on two sets of BFG factory take offs. Not a lot of towing and mild NW weather and a lot of freeway commuting.

This comes at a good time as in January new ones will go on mine. I'd like to know what you've been running. I'm on my second set of Michlelins and have not had one problem
