Yeah, posts like some of these are used for cartoons on some of the trucking forums that use the same trucks to make their living.
IMO any of the newer one ton DRW will do the job.
Rather than telling some one what size truck they should get I would rather give them options of what will work for a 14k-15k trailer.
Of course a one ton DRW with those big 9600-9800 lb RAWR will have plenty load capacity for that size trailer.
Also some of the one ton SRWs have around 4500 lbs of payload like say a '13 and up 3500 SRW Ram with a 13400 GVWR and 7000 lb RAWR.
Some F350 SRW 11500 GVWR over a 4k payload however cab selection are a std cab 2wd/etc.
The '13 and up GM SRW 4x4 extended cab long bed Dmax/A shows a 11600 GVWR and a 7000 RAWR with around 4200-4300 lb payload.
And all you have to do is choose !! :) Good luck
