Traded our Motorhome and Picking Up New Fifth Wheel Tomorrow

SO EXCITED!!! We traded our Motorhome for a Brand New Fifth Wheel at the Hershey Show in September. It Finally Came in and we are Picking it up tomorrow in Albany. They let us keep our Motorhome to use till we pick up the New Fifth Wheel. Just Praying there are No Rissues on the way to Albany tomorrow.

We will now be PROUD owners of a 2014 Jayco Eagle Premier 375BHFS. :B

CANNOT Wait! Can you tell how excited we are?

Just printed out a PDI checklist. Hope all goes well. We will surely Miss our Motorhome as we made so many Wonderful Memories with our Family. Bittersweet :W

Will post pics after we get it.

UPDATE...After being so excited yesterday the dealership called us to say there is damage to rear of camper. They said they don't know if it was done at plant or dealership. It has been at dealership all week so my guess is when they pulled it in yesterday to prep they backed in to something. We will go there this morning and see damage and decide what we will do. Thank you for your well wishes.
  • I would worry about broken welds that may be hidden, depending on what they really did of course. Check carefully. So sorry to hear, I know how exciting it is to finally have within your grasp what you so dearly been waiting for.
  • I am sure they will be able to repair it, however, I would insist on something for the trouble. There will be a delay in picking the unit up and the risk that you may have problems with the repaired area in the future (leaks, fit and finish, color differences, etc).

Make sure you make it worth your while. If it was damaged during shipping, they are insured for this purpose. Get them to take money off the price (discount $5K or so, or something like a substantial warranty in writing).

Others may be able to provide more appropriate value of compensation from their experiences.

  • Thank you all! We did special order this one with every option and upgrade available. We didn't want any regrets when we ordered. The dealership is saying it's just panel. But I don't believe them and want to see for myself before making any decisions. Just so frustrating and disappointing. We were so excited to go tomorrow.
  • Congrats on the new RV. If you didn't special order the unit, seriously consider making them swap it with another. Went through this years ago and wish I would have swapped. Lesson learned!
  • My first impression would be to tell them to keep it and order me another. I would not touch anything damaged regardless of how little the damage might be. I've had enough trouble with new trailers and campers that I don't need to take delivery on one that is already damaged.

Sorry to hear this happened to you! This is everyones worst nightmare, when getting something new. It is hard to even take anything in for warranty work, and not worry something else could be damaged by careless people.

I hope it is not too serious, and that all works out well for you!!

It sounds like a really nice FW!
