Frank. - NC_HaulerExplorer5 pages, and OP made one post on this, his thread on the 8th. of March......yeah, he's having a barrell of fun....
GY G614's AREN'T ST tires, as stated by more than several....Also the Sailun tire is a good tire, though made in China...would be the ONLY one at this time that I would be interested in coming from that country.
GY Marathon's on FishOnOne's trailer...hmmm, and he's ragging us all the time about where Ram is made, only buy ing US made products:R..I got a very good idea where his GY Marathons were manufactured.....but HAS to be in the USA or Fish wouldn't have them on his unit.... - You might gain some time if you don't stop for fuel every 190 miles. ;)

But the G614 is rated for 75mph.
Yup and they perform well at that speed!
This is a reason I wish I already had 16" wheels. I know people on this forum squawk about anybody going over 65. I didn't realize my ST tires had a max speed of 65 and I've had them upwards of 70-75. Our freeway speed here in Utah is 80 in the rural parts of the state and many of those roads are flat and straight for 10+ miles.
I've got to retrain my brain to be ok at 65 and ok with slowing traffic as people try to get around me.
The speed limit for trailers in Utah is 65mph. There has already been numerous complaints about people ignoring the 80mph speed and going in excess of 90mph. Did you see the reporting on channel 4 documenting this? The thing is people go 100mph with a mini-van full of kids----outright stupid!
The pic was taken in NM or TX panhandle. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Your wallet will certainly thank you. I'd bet Cummins would get his average MPG up from 6.3 to more like 9-10 if he'd slow down a bit. I pick up about 1.5-2.0 MPG slowing from 65 to 60. YMMV...obviously. ;)

I was bucking at least a 40mph headwind. I wanted to get to my destination where it was a lot warmer so MPG was not part of my concerns! - CKNSLSExplorer

I've tried to find the speed for towing on the Utah gov website but can't find anything -- they have speed limit buried somewhere. I did find it on other sites, but they don't reference any rule or regulation.
A few times a year I drive Northern Utah to St. George. Most of the time, I would estimate the fastest driver around 85-88 (in an 80 mph zone) with the average driver speed probably about 80 (not the usual 5-10 over). I find most people seem to drive the speed they are comfortable and I think a fair number of the cars on the road aren't comfortable at 80+ mph so people don't go that fast. Even with the current speed increase to 70 from 65 here on the Wasatch front, I'm surprised it hasn't really moved everybody up to 80 mph as I expected.
There's always those dumb people going super fast and there are a lot of highway patrol between Nephi and St. George.
I drive from the Salt Lake Valley to Provo regularly-there isn't anybody that goes 70mph. - kohaiExplorer
