I have 110 gal transfer flow set up on my F550. It has gotten me there and back on all the trips I have taken so far. Pulling the 5er I have about a 1000 mile range, depending on wind, grades and such of course.....
Keep in mind here, I'm not knocking anything, just asking a serious question.
What exactly is the point of these mega-tanks for a non-commercial driver? The tanks in me and my passengers get full a lot quicker than the standard tank in my truck gets empty. Point being I couldn't make use of that mega-range anyway, and don't understand how others do.
Since I have to stop anyhow, I pump while the DW and related Yard Apes take care of their business. When they're done, I can be inside and take care of mine before they even get settled back in. Point being I can pump my truck tank and drain MY tank before they're ready to go again, so pumping causes no delay. Tends to hold true even if its only the wife going in.
I don't see how the mega-tanks benefit the average Joe tugging a camper. I'd be interested to hear how it's an advantage to you (or anyone else).
