Don't wait until you're on the side of the road to discover that your jack is too tall, or some other sticking point occurs.
With any kind of luck maybe you'll never have to find out how to change a flat tire along the road side. :) - ol_Bombero-JCExplorer

What is the best location to jack up a 5th wheel to change a tire! Axel or frame?
For the "official" correct answer -
check your owner's manual - and the recommendations by your axle mfgr.
Don't have one or the other? (or both) - call the mfgr's tech line.
You will find almost all recommend jacking under the frame.
It's no big deal to do it that way, and other methods may be quicker and/or easier.
So - are there other acceptable ways to do it?
Sure.
However, *if* you follow the other methods - with bad results for whatever reason - the folks recommending same won't be paying for your repairs, *YOU* will..:W
Since they don't know your mechanical abilities - a disclaimer should be included with their advice..;)

Axel. As close to the wheel as possible.
Or if you have a leveling system, let it take the wheels off the ground. - Ziphead2Explorer III have a double axel

never the axle...spring plate or frame.
Best method is to use something like this which is a lot easier and quicker:

And which a lot of people say will overload the good tire. Hmmmm... I still say that, if the axle is strong enough to hold the springs, it's strong enough to jack there.

Don't know about triple..best guess is it won't work
I do know it won't work on my double axle 5vr.
Can't get enough lift to raise the other axle/tire off ground
I jack under axle right where the springs are attached.......all of the trailer weight is suspended/support at that location on each axle so my jacking p wheel there is not going to hurt anything.
Besides.....I would have to build crimping 12" high in order to use a jack on frame. And that AIN'T happening on the side of the road!

X3. This way the trailer is hardly lifted whereas jacking under the frame requires a LOT of lift.
I say axle right under the spring hangers/U-bolts. Other people have varying opinions.
I do it this way because I see no sense in trying to carry jacks tall enough to lift the frame, no sense in trying to carry the necessary cribbing to do the aforementioned, and jacking under the axle at the spring hangers is quicker and looks to do no damage. I jack the wheel up just high enough to change the tire, and I just can't see how it can damage anything.
That's my opinion, and that's how I've done it in the past. - the_bear_IIExplorernever the axle...spring plate or frame.
