That cap is just riveted on the end of the plastic pipe. You can re-rivet, but if you unscrew the outside panel door, you can remove the whole thing to work on it easier. I never used the sprayer, too weak, so shortened the tube and installed a regular hose bib. It was way handier to use to transfer left over water to folks staying when you're leaving and they can use the water. You can also adapt your coil hose to fit the hose bib, and still keep the sprayer.
I'd like to see pictures of that. I have the same setup as well.
