I don't think this can really be referred to as a "new product" since I believe there have been previous iterations of this product. Sometimes there's a reason the products don't catch on, regardless of how far-seeing and innovative they appear to the more "enlightened". :)
My thought is if you have enough truck to haul your trailer, why do you need one of these? Seems like the answer would be, you don't have enough truck and this is the bandaid. JMO of course.
Open mindedness is good, just don't be so open minded your brains fall out. :)
JMO , you got that part right, as most do on this forum. Why would you think a bandaid, you cannot come up with any reasons for wanting one. Believe me your not in fear of your brains falling out
Have a good friend that has one of these hitches, towing his fifth wheel from Florida to Idaho every summer, and into the fall to hunt . Has plenty of truck. He simply has one because he wants to haul his 4 wheeler in the bed of the pickup . Does not want to tow double, for whatever reasons. He said the hitch works very well for him. Not my opinion, just relaying what he has told me. - 4x4FFExplorer

I agree with you completely about the 'catching on' part. My issue is the ones who dog it sight unseen without even researching it or trying it. The "It's different that what I use so it must not be any good" attitude. I also have no issues with people pointing out potential problems.....heck that is what I am looking for. If someone doesn't like the looks of it...that's fine. Just do a little looking before completely dissing something.
In speaking with the designer of this (he is an engineer) one of the biggest benefits is load distribution. You are PULLING a weight not hauling a weight. Also with a good portion of the braking being handled by the new axle (Same axle on an F450 he advised) it would seem to me that that is the biggest benefit. It would probably provide better braking with an F250 pulling it than with an F450 hauling it. Just my thoughts.
Steve - RbertalottoExplorerA while back there was a vehicle trailer hitch that pivoted at or near the center of the rear axle and traversed the rear of the vehicle in some kind of slot. The engineering made perfect sense, but I don't believe it ever caught on.

Muy bad.. I had thought (wrongly I guess) the wheel setup was a swivel-type assembly as attached to the hitch. :)
Thanks for enlightening my "comprehension" and "Love those quotes" and my my "lack of imagination".
Very informative to me. I have learned a lot from those comments. - 4x4FFExplorer

I honestly think it has more to do with a lack of imagination and a refusal to accept anything new or different as being of any worth at all.
Perhaps, as most all posters here are RV'ers, we have gotten older and so set in our ways that something new, as this hitch system is, is immediately scorned as not workable or without merit, without first having at least investigated or researched the merits of such a system.
X2,
As I said earlier, I plan on purchasing one of the pretty soon. I have searched and read every review I could find and even spoke personally with a couple of actual owners. The ONLY negative comments were from folks who have never used nor even seen one. EVERY person who owned one that I have interacted with was overwhelmingly positive.
As with any newer product are there disadvantages???? I'm sure there are, but it also solves a lot of problems. A short conversation I had with the inventor about the increased braking capabilities was enough to convince me.

Love these quotes.
Here you go, take a look at this video, then see if your comment was correct. I believe you will find you were completely incorrect.
