Hi everyone! GVWR is 16,000. Hitch weight is 2,600.
What is the minimum requirement to haul one of these? Thanks for your help in advance!
That 5er has a 3,500# carrying capacity, so even loaded with 2,000# of stuff 14,500#.
NEW, Max tow package 3500/350 SRW diesel.
Used, most likely a DRW 3500/350, diesel, at 14,500 you could get by with a newer SRW. - jmtandemExplorer II
Hi everyone! GVWR is 16,000. Hitch weight is 2,600.
2600 is doubtful, hitch pin weight would be more like 3200 pounds for the pin and another 200 or so for the hitch. Figure at least 3400 pounds. That is getting on the high side with all the other stuff and people you will have in your truck for any truck less than a one ton. - donn0128Explorer IIAw heck a f150 ecoboost should handle that just fine!
- phillygExplorer IIOne ton SRW.
- ashane2goExplorerMy Brand new 2016 Ford 1 ton Diesel SRW legally can only do 15,600. And have just about 3000 in the box. I know the new Ram's can do 18,000 with the right set up with the SRW. Already wish i bought a DRW for capability.
- Cummins12V98Explorer IIIRV in pic weighed around 18K with 4,500# pin. Truck was my 11 HO RAM, no airbags. Truck sat nice and level. The 13 and newer RAM's will handle that load even better.
- MFLNomad IIMinimum...a later model 350/3500 SRW
