Just about any time we stop for food, fuel, rest area, etc, typically every 2-3 hours, we just hop in, turn on the 12v pump, use the toilet, turn the pump off, maybe get drink and snack, and back on the road. No need to open slides on our floor plan. And we use the trailer bathroom even if we stop in a nice rest area.
