There are many families who fulltime with 2 adults and 4 kids. Most that I have seen are doing it in crew cab/long bed pickup trucks. Take your pick for which brand. My truck new was $45k and had most of the bells & whistles.
We are just a family of 4 but I have long considered a Cowtown Sleeper because we regularly take my in-laws along (so, 4 adults and 2 kids - and none of the 4 adults are "little"). I personally am good for up to 1-3 hours with 3 adults across the bench in the front. The Cowtown Sleeper would give us a 3rd row of seating at the expense of turning my long bed into a short bed.
With a bed shortened with a Cowtown Sleeper, you're then looking at a slider hitch or Reese Revolution/Sidewinder hitch.
