If you run the gen power into one breaker only, when that breaker is off, only the items on that breaker will have power. In order for power to get to anything else, the breaker has to be on, this will make the plug hot with the contacts exposed. This is dangerous, you can and will electrocute someone, and possibly start a fire. If you leave this breaker off while using the generator, you won't energize the anything else including the plug for the shoreline. Now you plug the shoreline plug into shore power, you will energize the pigtail going to the generator the same way with the same hazards! Your best bet is use the shore power cord and plug it into the generator. You can install a pigtail, like a permanently installed extension cord, to the generator with a receptacle to plug the shore line into in the compartment that stores the shore cable and just plug it into it when using the generator.
